Law banning use of war-promoting symbols published in Official Journal of Moldova

Chisinau, April 20 / MOLDPRES /- The promulgation decree and the Law amending some normative acts have been published in today's issue of the Official Journal of Moldova.

Under the document, the making, sale and possession of symbols of military aggression is punishable by a fine of 4,500 to 9,000 lei or unpaid work for the benefit of the community from 30 to 60 hours. Legal entities risk fines of up to 18 thousand lei.

Yesterday, President Maia Sandu said she promulgated the law and noted that “the amendment of the national legislation regarding some signs and letters that are used by the Russian army in the Ukrainian war and our historical memory, and people will still be able to commemorate the heroes who fought in World War II. ”
