Switzerland to provide Moldova with 3.2 million dollars to manage refugees' crisis

Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will receive a grant worth 3.2 million dollars for the management of the refugees’ crisis, provided as donation by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). At a today’s meeting, the cabinet approved a draft on the starting of negotiations and signing an agreement between the Moldovan Finance Ministry and SDC.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the non-refundable financial assistance, provided by Swiss partners, is to be transferred to the government’s intervention fund, in an account specially opened by the Finance Ministry for backing the Ukrainian refugees.
The donation will be provided for financing the expenses and needs of the national public authorities, borne in the process of management of the crisis of refugees from Ukraine.
The term of turning to good account the financial resources is 31 December 2022. The money will be disbursed in two installments: the first one, worth 1.2 million dollars, following the agreement’s signing and the second one, amounting to 2 million dollars – after the reporting of the revenues and expenses related to the first installment.
