Moldova to benefit from technical, financial assistance on behalf of Germany

Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - The government of the Federal Republic of Germany will provide the Moldovan government with non-refundable technical and financial assistance worth 33.7 million euros. Moldova’s cabinet today voted for starting the negotiations and approving the signing of two agreements to this end, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, 23 million euros is to be provided for the implementation of three projects underway: Support of the asocial and communal infrastructure III, System of supply with drinking water and sewerage, Moldova Centru, VPT, phase 3 and System of supply with drinking water and sewerage, VPT, phase 3, support measures. Following the carrying out of the projects, the system of supply with drinking water and sewerage will be extended and more settlements will be connected to supply from the water main Chisinau-Calarasi-Straseni.
At the same time, the German government will also provide technical assistance worth 10.7 million euros in all. The concerned assistance will regard two projects – 2.5 million euros for Political Counseling of Moldova and 8.2 million euros for Strong enterprises and communes for Moldova.
The deadline for turning to good account these resources is 25 November 2026.
The Moldovan-German bilateral negotiations on the providing of assistance for Moldova’s technical and financial development for 2021-2022 took place on 25 November 2021.
