Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Special Assistant to U.S. President

Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu in Washington has had a meeting with Special Assistant to U.S. President, Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council Amanda Sloat.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, the officials discussed the new security context in the region, the way Moldova manages the flow of refugees triggered by the war in Ukraine, as well as the ways the country can be supported, including through ensuring the social and economic security, stability and resilience.
„We expressed concerns about Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and called on to the ceasing of the hostilities as soon as possible,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head spoke out for the strengthening and deepening of the political and security dialogue between Moldova and USA, as well as for the development of projects on energy resilience in the context of the present vulnerabilities, advancement in the dialogue on justice and in diverse fields of mutual interest.
