Customs, Border Police to work jointly in Moldova during Easter Holidays

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ - The leadership of the Border Police and Customs Service today paid a working visit to the border crossing points Leuseni and Sculeni.   

According to the Border Police, the main goal of the visit is to establish a common mechanism of cooperation between the border policemen and customs employees, in order to ensure comfortableness and easy movement at the most demanded border checkpoints.    

„It was established that, on this period, when an increased flow of travellers and transport means is recorded, the single desk should be enforced, when the border and customs control is carried out concomitantly, as this is an efficient way to shorten the waiting time at the crossing of the state border. Also, in the concerned situations, the infrastructure of the border crossing points and of the REVERSE procedure should be used at the maximal level, which implies the redirecting of the flow to the opposite direction of movement,’’ the institution said.

Also, the Border Police and the Customs Service agreed that, in cooperation with the Romanian side, ‘’a quick exchange of information should be carried out and the travellers should be proposed to opt, while crossing the border, for the Costesti and Lipcani border checkpoints in the northern region and Cahul border crossing point in southern Moldova.’’
