Over six hundred town halls applied to European Village program

Chisinau, April 22 / MOLDPRES /- Over six hundred town halls have mobilized to apply for the project competition within the National Local Development Program European Village, with a total of 724 applications for project funding, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) has reported.

According to the ministry, among the proposed projects, the priority is the interest of the applicants for the construction / extension / rehabilitation / modernization of water supply, water treatment and sewerage systems for local public institutions (kindergartens, schools, medical points); street lighting and thermal insulation of public buildings.

There has also been interest in installing energy generation and supply systems using renewable resources; construction / rehabilitation of sports halls for socially vulnerable groups, childcare centers, the elderly and people with special needs.

"Thank you all for your mobilization and involvement! We are moving the country, project by project and locality by locality ", MIDR communiqué reads.

The technical evaluation of the funding applications will take place on May 16-27. Subsequently, a report on the results of the technical evaluation will be made. The report will be presented to the regional development policy development authority for the draft Single Program Document and its presentation for approval by the National Council for Coordination of Regional and Local Development and, subsequently, for approval by government decision. The promotion for approval of the draft Government decision on the approval of the Annex to the Single Program Document will take place on June 6-24.

The selected projects will be financed from the sources of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. The project competition was launched by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development jointly with the Regional Development Agencies, on March 21, and immediately after its launch, information and consulting sessions were initiated throughout the country for potential applicants for the preparation and qualitative completion of funding applications.
