Moldovan Foreign Minister, Lithuanian counterpart co-chair meeting on bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 27 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius co-chaired the sixth meeting of the Moldovan-Lithuanian commission for EU integration in Vilnius today, the Foreign Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The Moldovan delegation was made up of representatives of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, Interior Ministry, National Anticorruption Centre and National Integrity Commission.
At the meeting, the sides focused on the progress and dynamics of bilateral ties between Moldovan and Lithuanian institutions. Lithuania is an EU-member state and may offer Moldova expertise in sectors like migration, border management, promotion of the integrity of the public service, etc. Gherman noted that such cooperation was very important for Moldova, especially in the light of its efforts to implement the Moldova-EU Association Agreement.
In the end of the meeting, the officials signed a protocol on specific prospects of cooperation between both countries. The next meeting is due in the autumn of 2016.
