Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet led by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet was dismissed today, under a censure motion supported by MPs of the Democratic Party (PDM), Party of Socialists (PSRM) and Party of Communists (PCRM).

After four hours of debates, the cabinet was dismissed with the vote of 65 lawmakers, including those of the Democrats' faction. According to the leader of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, the no confidence vote is addressed to Prime Minister Strelet and not to politician who has the right to behave as he wants. "The prime minister was voted also by PDM to do its job at the government and to solve people's problems. During the last two weeks, he has been dealing only with the party. We reproach to Prime Minister Strelet that he, along with Vlad Filat, have been behind the Dignity and Truth Platform, which fights against the alliance parties. They deceived both us and the people. This behavior is not normal in a pro-European alliance. Also, we accuse the premier of obstructing the investigation in the case of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank, BEM). And besides, the current alliance has no parliamentary majority," Lupu said.

Lupu noted that PDM would not make coalition with left-wing parties and would not contribute to deviating Moldova's European integration. "PDM is ready to negotiate for having an alliance, a government and a parliamentary majority in a few days. This will be a test for us and we will see what is behind tough declarations on European integration," he said.

Valeriu Strelet said the situation in Moldova became critical. "Now, they do not want to maintain political stability, they want to keep the present situation. We will not participate in this affair, different reasons may be invented, and the today's vote was an important test. Do not count on our participation in backing the current system, get rid of the captivity of a single man," Strelet said.

A number of 18 MPs, among whom those of the PL faction, voted against the censure motion.
