Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/- The Democratic Party (PDM) suggests that negotiations on the creation of a new governing coalition start tomorrow, on 30 October. According to the Liberal Party (PL), EU integration is Moldova's only choice, while the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) said it would come up with a decision after consultations within the party; however, it would no more accept "behind-the-scenes games."
At the end of the parliament’s meeting today, PDM leader Marian Lupu said he would ask his colleagues from the former Alliance for European Integration (AIE) to start negotiations on a new governing coalition. ”We will hold talks tomorrow and will gather 55 votes. We hope for quick negotiations, as we must fulfill our duties. Once we put Moldova’s interests above all, and leave emotions and frustrations behind, chances are we will succeed,” Lupu said.
PL leader Mihai Ghimpu noted that negotiations must start, as the vote on the motion created an unchangeable situation. “A new alliance is our only choice. We should also take into consideration our commitment to continue the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement,” Ghimpu said.
PLDM deputy leader Vadim Pistrinciuc said his party had not yet decided whether it would participate in the negotiations on the creation of a new ruling coalition. However, he added that the PLDM would not take part in the preservation of the current system.
The Moldovan cabinet headed by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet was dismissed by the motion of censure with the votes of the MPs from the Democratic Party, Party of Socialists and Party of Communists today.
