Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/- Pundit Anatol Taranu says one of the main goals of the Democratic Party’s (PDM) today actions was to take over the position of prime minister, while other political experts believe the situation is ambiguous and could worsen soon.
Taranu said the Democrat MPs' vote in the parliament today was nothing but a precise attempt to take control over the government and appoint one of its loyal individuals as prime minister. “The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) is having a hard time with negotiations. I guess we are moving towards a leftist alliance,” Taranu said.
Political expert Oazu Nantoi noted that the actions of the Dignity and Truth Platform, which were directly targeting Vlad Plahotniuc, caused the scenario unveiled in the parliament today. “The decision to change the form of government by diminishing the influence of the PLDM was taken back then. The situation is uncertain and we shall wait to see what is going to happen next , we want to see who are these pro-Europeans, whom PDM is trying to put forward,” Nantoi said.
For his part, constitutional expert Nicolae Osmochescu added that the Moldovan top politicians’ latest actions had proved that negotiations would be difficult. “The current prime minister will ensure the interim of office until a new government is elected,” Osmochescu said.
The Moldovan cabinet today was dismissed by motion of censure with the votes of Democrat, Socialist and Communist MPs.
