Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today submitted a petition on resignation of his cabinet to President Nicolae Timofti, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
At a meeting, Strelet and Timofti discussed activities the current government had started, which are to be continued by the next cabinets.
After holding talks with the four deputy prime ministers, President Nicolae Timofti appointed Gheorghe Brega as interim prime minister.
“According to the Constitutional Court’s historical ruling from 22 April 2013, I cannot ensure the interim, due to corruption accusations stipulated in the motion of censure, which are completely false and groundless,” Valeriu Strelet told journalists.
