Moldovan officials plant trees within National Greening Day

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/-Moldovan acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega and civil servants of the State Chancellery on 31 October, planted trees within the National Greening Day "A Tree for Our Future" the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The event took place at the Plaiul Fagului natural reservation, close to Radenii Vechi village, Ungheni district. Officials planted acacia seedlings on a land area of about two hectares.
Actions within the "A Tree for Our Future" campaign were held all over Moldova on 31 October. People planted trees, trimmed forest strips and passages near roads and water reservoirs. For this purpose, the National Ecological Fund allotted funds amounting to about one million lei.
According to Environment Ministry’s data, on 31 October, organizers planned the plantation of forestry products on a 548-hectare surface and the execution of natural regeneration works on 295 hectares of land within the forestry fund subordinated to Moldsilva state agency.
