Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/- Authorities in charge will inspect all entertainment places of Moldova, especially night clubs, with a high degree of agglomeration and fire hazard.
The press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service (SPCSE), Diana Turcanu, said that “starting from tomorrow, 3 November, firefighters will perform a fire safety inspection at all the country’s entertainment places (bars, cafes, shopping centres, night clubs), to prevent potential fires”.
During today’s weekly meeting of the Chisinau city hall’s services, SPCSE representative noted that “many of the capital’s venues have blocked fire evacuation exits, allow smoking inside and lack protection of their electrical equipment against a potential short-circuit”.
The decision was taken after 30 people had died, and approximately 200 were injured in a fire at the Bucharest-based Colectiv night club on 30 October.
