Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The leadership of the Democratic Party (PDM) and Party of Communists (PCRM) discussed the political situation emerged following the resignation of the Strelet government at a meeting today.
PDM deputy leader Andrian Candu said the participants in the meeting had exchanged opinions on the future events on Moldova's political agenda. "I informed the colleagues from the Communists' faction about how the negotiations are going with our partners. We did not negotiate a certain government or a governing act with PCRM. They showed willingness to give a helping hand for a political stability for a longer period. They have European visions. The attitude of the colleagues from PLDM (Liberal Democratic Party), who will inform on whether they will participate in the talks on not tomorrow, matter a lot," Candu said.
The PCRM leadership also showed content with the discussions with the Democrats. "We had a dialogue with the PDM, during which we set forth the same visions. We consider that we should not divide the citizens of Moldova and manage to overcome the serious situation from Moldova based on the parliamentary platform. We think that other MPs will join this dialogue, through which we might identify and appoint a government. The lawmakers must put aside the political ideologies to develop the country," a PCRM MP, Artur Resetnicov, said.
In late last week, the government led by Valeriu Strelet was dismissed with the votes of PDM, PCRM and the Party of Socialists. Afterwards, the Democrats said they were starting negotiations on the formation of a new ruling coalition. PLDM has not taken a decision in whether to participate in the talks or not as yet.
