Moldova to speed up reforms in Free Trade Agreement with EU

Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - The implementation of the actions provided for in the action plan needs to be sped up, so that as many as possible of these actions should be fulfilled by late 2015. This is a conclusion reached at a today's meeting of the committee on supervising the enforcement of the financing agreement between the Moldovan government and the European Commission on Support Programme on Creation of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area.
The discussions in this format encourage the achievement of the set goals, and contributes to establishing new actions that are to be implemented, Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic has said.
The important actions that are to be carried out are promotion the investments' attraction and export promotion strategy, law on quality infrastructure, plan on institutional development of the National Agency for Food Security and Agency for Consumer Protection. At the same time, the competent ministry will continue developing the business infrastructure, organizing business missions abroad, as well as backing the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises via facilitating access to financing.
To enforce the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, the European Union plans to earmark 30 million euros to Moldova. The first installment worth eight million euros was allocated in the fourth quarter of this year.
