Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - The faction of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will not participate in the negotiations with the Democrats for the creation of a new ruling coalition. PLDM acting leader Valeriu Strelet made statements to this effect at the end of a meeting of the formation's national political council.
After almost four hours of discussions, Strelet said the PLDM MPs had ruled to set up a new right centre and would not participate in the talks initiated by the Democratic Party (PDM) last week.
"Taking into account the fact that the Democratic Party is not described by PLDM as pro-European and PDM seized the state's institutions, the Liberal Democrats took the decision not to participate in the negotiations. After having triggered the resignation of a pro-European government, they must assume the consequences," Valeriu Strelet said.
On 3 November, the PDM lawmakers had discussions with the Party of Communists, after which they informed that the two parties shared the same common visions about the European future of Moldova.
