Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - Fourteen oil companies, of which five are importing fuels, have notified the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) about a new cut in prices of the pump petrol and diesel oil by an average of 0.25 and, respectively, 0.30 lei per one litre, after the petrol's price had dropped by 0.23 lei in late last October.
"Some of the companies reduced the prices on 4 and 5 November, while the other companies are to cut the prices on 6-8 November," ANRE said.
Thus, the petrol pump price decreased from 17.88 lei per one litre to 17.63 lei, while the diesel oil price dropped from an average of 15.85 lei to 15.56 lei per one litre. Traders explain the cut in prices of fuels by the diminution of their acquisition prices.
The last decrease in the retail prices for petrol was made in October 2015, and for diesel oil - in last August. In mid-July 2015, five of the biggest oil companies increased the petrol by an average of 0.65 lei per one litre, just three weeks after they had increased the price by 0.50 lei per one litre. The pump price for the most demanded petrol, A95, reached 18.3 lei per one litre. This was the third substantial rise of this year, after the oil companies increased the petrol prices by 0.50 lei in last February.
Presently, 86 enterprises holding activity licences for the retail sale of petrol and diesel oil are working on the oil products market. These products are sold at 624 fuel filling stations of Moldova.
