First regional investment forum held in Gagauz administrative centre

Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/ - The first Investment Forum from the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri started in Comrat, administrative centre of Gagauzia, today. "This is the fit time and place to reaffirm the importance of a balanced and sustainable economic development in regions," acting Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Stephane Bride said at the event held in the autonomy.
Bride welcomed the initiative by the Gagauz authorities to organise such a forum in the region, given that the attraction of investments and developing the business environment is a priority of the government. "An achievement in this respect is the opening of the Regional Development Agency in Comrat, through the agency of which mechanisms of promotion will be applied and more funds will be directed, both for infrastructure and for backing the business environment," the official said.
For her part, the bashkan of UTA Gagauz-Yeri, Irina Vlah, voiced confidence that the investment forum would allow setting a dialogue between the authorities of the autonomy and the business environment, would held improve the investment climate in the region and in Moldova.
Attending the first investment forum, held on 6-7 November, are representatives of the central and local authorities, business people and delegates of state structures from Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Estonia, Romania, etc.
Contracts on the setting up of Moldovan-Belarusian enterprises for assembling tractors in the Tomai village, construction of a modern hotel in Comrat and implementation of a project on producing electricity from bio-mass in Ceadir-Lunga were signed on the first day of the forum.
