Moldovan acting foreign minister attends annual Riga conference

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/-Acting Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman attended the annual Riga Conference, in Latvia on 6-7 November, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
As a guest of honour, Natalia Gherman gave a speech during the workshop on Moldova’s EU integration. The participants focused, in particular, on opportunities to bring the Eastern Partnership to account, considering the new challenges its international and regional priorities must face. During her speech, the Moldovan official said it was important that Moldova remain firmly committed to its EU integration course. Moreover, this choice had already been confirmed by the signing of the EU Association Agreement, which brought a lot of positive change for Moldovan citizens, only a year after the beginning of its implementation.
The Riga Conference is an annual meeting of regional and international top experts in foreign policy and defence, academics, journalists, and business representatives. Convening in the Latvian capital since 2006, the conference has become a recognized annual tradition in the region, promoting the discussion and assessment of issues affecting the transatlantic community.
