Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The faction of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) today said the Democratic Party (PDM) bore the entire responsibility for the resignation of the government and the present political crisis. At the same time, the PDM representatives said that, to overcome the crisis, a new draft action programme of government would be worked out as early as till 13 November.
PLDM made the statement at a news briefing of the faction. At the event, a Liberal Democratic MP, Tudor Deliu, said that "he describes as offending the rhetoric of some PDM leaders, which fuels rumours on a split of the PLDM faction."
Therefore, the PLDM faction said it was ready to act united, in compliance with the interests of the citizens.
"Despite the applied pressures, manipulations and blackmail, the PLDM parliamentary faction reconfirms it determination to act united, in accordance with the interests of Moldova's citizens," Tudor Deliu said.
The Liberal Democratic lawmakers also said that they deemed a new approach on the governing act as extremely important. The basic element of this approach is the political class getting to the side of the people's interests, taking the law-enforcement institutions out of the political control, unveiling all the truth about the fraud at Banca de Economii (Savings Bank, BEM), liberalisation and de-monopolization of the economy and media.
At the same time, following the today consultations with President Nicolae Timofti, Democrats' leader Marian Lupu said that he had proposed two objectives to the head of state: "the first one is presentation, till next Friday, of a draft political agreement and programme of the parliamentary majority, that is to provide for the reforms we are set to carry out. The second goal for the next week is to come up with a candidature for the office of prime minister at the head of state after discussions."
The government led by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet was dismissed with the votes of 65 lawmakers of the Democratic Party, Party of Socialists and Party of Communists on 29 October. Following the cabinet's dismissal, PDM said it was launching talks in the creation of a new pro-European ruling coalition.
