Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The parliamentary faction of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) today recorded a draft parliament decision on the setting up of an inquiry commission for assessing the fulfilment of the commitments coming from the contract on concession of the assets managed by the state enterprise Chisinau International Airport.
According to PLDM MPs, the need to create such a commissions results from ambiguous and contradictory formulations by a working group set up under an instruction by the Moldovan prime minister. The working group found out that only one investment unit had been implemented out of the three ones. At the same time, the contract on concession of the Airport cannot be cancelled for the time being, although it contains more items making the government's position vulnerable before the concessionaire.
The Liberal Democrat lawmakers propose that, in a month time, the inquiry commission unveils a report on the fulfilment by the concessionaire of the Chisinau International Airport of its obligations and terms of the contract.
Today, the governmental commission which analysed the way the Airport is modernised, informed that there were no reasons for cancelling the contract on concession. According to acting Justice Minister Vladimir Cebotari, although Avia Invest has not fully honoured its commitments, the state is obliged to give it a trial period.
