Moldovan parliament to host 90th Rose-Roth NATO Parliamentary Assembly seminar

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- The parliament will host the 90th edition of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s (PA) Rose-Roth seminar, entitled “Moldova’s European Future: the Regional Context and Internal Challenges”. The event will take place in Chisinau, on 11-13 November, the parliament’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Moldovan Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega will give welcome speeches in the beginning of the seminar. NATO deputy chairman Paolo Alli, the head of the Swiss Delegation to NATO PA, Hans Hess, Moldovan acting Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman, as well as, former European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle, will deliver key speeches during the opening session of the event.
During the three-day seminar, participants will discuss Moldova’s political and economic evolution, its ties with NATO, consolidation of its integrity and democratic control, as well as its relations with Russia, ways to settle the Transnistrian conflict, possible consequences of Ukraine’s geopolitical situation over regional and global security, Eastern neighbourhood, Moldova’s ties with the EU, following the Riga annual conference, and the informational war in Eastern Europe.
Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici, MP, member of Moldova’s Parliamentary Delegation to NATO PA, Dumitru Diacov, the chairman of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and EU integration, Valentina Buliga and the chairman of the parliamentary commission for national security, defence and public order, Veaceslav Untila, will also participate in the seminar.
NATO PA’s Rose Roth seminar brings together MPs of NATO member and partner states, government officials, representatives of international organizations, academic experts and NGO representatives to debate actual security matters. The seminars, including the Rose-Roth one, annually carried out by NATO PA, are meant to familiarize MPs with security and defence key subjects.
Moldova has been an associate member to NATO PA since November 1994. MPs Dumitru Diacov and Artur Resetnicov are members of Moldova’s Parliamentary Delegation to NATO PA.
