Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Deputy Prime Minister Victor Osipov today had a meeting with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office for Transnistrian Settlement Radojko Bogojevic. The two officials discussed identifying solutions to the Transnistrian conflict settlement.

According to the OSCE special representative, the Transnistrian conflict will be solved only via discussions, and a meeting in the five-plus-two format should be organised to advance in negotiations.

"The today visit is aimed at preparing the ground for the subsequent five-plus-two negotiations. In this context, we thank Moldova's government for backing the process of creation of the platform for discussions due to follow and we hope that the latter will lead directly to the settlement of the conflict," Radojko Bogojevic said.

Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov specified that "the Chisinau authorities should further support the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. We can do this only through cooperation both with the Tiraspol authorities and with the support of international organisations. We are open for the five-plus-two discussions and we hope that the solutions will meet, first of all, the people's interests."

OSCE Special Representative, Ambassador Radojko Bogojevic is on his ninth visit to Moldova. On 17 November, Bogojevic is to meet the chief negotiator on behalf of Transnistria, Vitaliy Ignatyev, in Tiraspol, with whom he will discuss the resumption of the five-plus-two talks.
