Moldovan Democrats provide answer to Liberal Democrats' requirements

14:13 | 18.11.2015 Category: Political

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Democratic Party (PDM) considers that the conditions put by the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) today are just attempts to cover other things. PDM made the statement after the Liberal Democrats had put three conditions to the Democrats for taking part in the formation of a new cabinet.

PDM said the Liberal Democrats had always had possibility to come to express their wishes at political meetings over the last weeks. At these meetings, PLDM representatives could have learned the opinion of the Democrats and other pro-European parties.

According to a press release, the Democrats say they have repeatedly showed openness to meet pro-European parties at any time and in any format, and the only party to refuse any discussions was PLDM.

"PDM has always agreed with all conditions meant to ensure the democratic development of the state, measures which we have proposed and unveiled publicly in form of priorities, at political negotiations with the other pro-European parties.  If PLDM is willing to learn PDM's position towards the requirements they expressed, they should come to dialogue and not hide behind populist actions."

PLDM today put three conditions to PDM to participate in the formation of a new government. The first condition is that the future prime minister should be politically non-affiliated, has to have his/her last word in the creation of the cabinet and the government reshufflings at the necessary moment. As for the parliament speaker, there should not be suspicions of family ties and business relation with people who edified the "captive system." The last condition is that the law-enforcement institutions and the justice be taken out of the party and oligarchic subordination.
