Moldovan government approves new regulatory framework on social assistance, family protection bodies

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/-The acting cabinet today approved a regulatory framework on the organisation, functioning, structure and type of the local body in charge of social assistance and family protection.
The new regulation was carried out after social assistance and family protection departments, as well as their functions and administrative processes had been assessed within a World Bank project.
Experts recommend the number of employers be increased and specific recommendations on the personnel structure be issued, in order to consolidate the role social assistance and family protection departments play in the implementation of social assistance policies. Experts had also suggested multilateral communication be systematized, staff be subjected to initial and continuous training, as well as staff supervision mechanisms, especially in the field of social services, be regulated and implemented.
The approved draft also provides for the structure and type of the local body in charge of social assistance and family protection, issuing recommendations in this sense.
The regulation framework on the organisation, functioning, structure and type of the local body in charge of social assistance and family protection was carried out within the implementation of the Moldovan government’s Activity Programme for 2015-2018 and enforcement of the Action Plan on the implementation of Moldova-EU Association Agreement for 2014-2016.
