German embassy launches International Parliamentary Scholarship programme for young Moldovans

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - The embassy of Germany in Chisinau today launched a programme on International Parliamentary Scholarship for young Moldovans, provided by the German Bundestag.
The head of the German Bundestag's logistics department, Randolph Kruger, has told a news conference that "the scholarships are offered to young people with high qualification and increased interest in the political life, both national and international, in order to promote democracy and take over the German state policies."
The basic conditions for the people willing to benefit from these scholarships are: a very good knowledge of German, being a citizen of Moldova, finished higher education, general culture knowledge on politics, society and history of Germany, and an age under 30.
During 1 March - 21 July 2016, the young people will work at a parliamentary office in Bundestag, where they will answer phone calls, letters, will go to meetings of the politician with voters and will take part in events organised by the concerned politician.
The beneficiaries will have a scholarship of 500 euros monthly, free accommodation, the German authorities will cover the costs for health insurance and transport.
After the programme's completion, the young people return to Moldova to enforce the democratic practices taken over at the Bundestag.
The programme is organised along with the Free University, Humboldt University and Technical University, all from Berlin.
Presently, over 2,200 students from 41 countries have benefited from these scholarships. Moldova has been participating in this programme for more than ten years, during which over 20 students received these scholarships.
