Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/- The Liberal Democratic Party’s (PLDM) conditions can be discussed only at the table of negotiations, and proposal to appoint a technocrat prime minister sounds good, but it is complicated to put it into practice. MPs of Democratic Party (PDM), Liberal Party (PL) and European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) have made the statements to this effect.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, PL deputy leader Valeriu Munteanu noted that any condition could be discussed. “The time for unilateral discussions is over, now we are on the eve of winter, and the situation in the country becomes more and more complicated. For this reason, we strongly ask the colleagues of PLDM to come back to negotiations,” Munteanu said.
PPE lawmaker Eugen Carpov said that PLDM must return to negotiations, within which any condition may be discussed and enforced.
At a TV programme, PDM MP Dumitru Diacov noted that appointment of a politically non-affiliated prime minister was a great idea. Yet, Diacov does not believe that the latter will be supported by participants in negotiations on creation of a new ruling coalition. “Technocrat premier is a good idea, but when the latter comes from a political party, it sounds suspiciously and will not be backed”, he concluded.
On 23 November evening, PLDM interim leader Valeriu Strelet, following consultations with President Nicolae Timofti, said that the party insisted on the fulfillment of conditions for coming back to negotiations with PDM, PL and PPE. Among them, there are appointment of a politically non-affiliated prime minister, resignation of Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and releasing state institutions from captivity.
