Moldovan foreign minister, French ambassadors, EU officials hold meeting

Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/-Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman met a group of French ambassadors to countries of the Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Southern Caucasus and Rusia, as well as representatives of the French Foreign Ministry, on 23 November, in the evening. Such a meeting was for the first time ever held in Moldova, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and communication department has reported.
Gherman welcomed the presence of French diplomats in Chisinau, adding that it is important for them to learn more about the current situation in Moldova.
During the meeting, the officials broached bilateral ties, the implementation of the provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, Transnistrian conflict’s settlement, as well as the regional situation.
For their part, French officials reiterated France’s support for Moldova’s European future.
Attending the meeting were also Deputy Prime Minister, acting Economics Minister Stéphane Christophe Bridé, French Ambassador to Moldova Pascal Vagogne, German Ambassador to Moldova Ulrike Knotz, head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Pirkka Tapiola, head of the OSCE Mission, Michael Scanlan, head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau Jose Luis Herrero, and also the head of the Mobiasbancă-Groupe Société Générale, Ridha Tekaia.
