Moldovan groups of horticulturists to receive grants to develop business

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - The commission for evaluating the files within the Market Access investment grant programmes of the Moldovan Agriculture Competitiveness Project has approved another two grants for financing worth 571,800 dollars for groups of horticulturists from the northern Ocnita and central Ialoveni districts.

"The files have been submitted within the last appeal of the grants programme launched in September 2015, the deadline of which is 31 December 2015," the grant programme manager, Olga Sainciuc, said.  

The group of producers VISAD FRUCT from the Lincauti village, Ocnita district, will receive a grant amounting to 293,500 dollars. The investment project, estimated at 787,500 dollars, provides for building a  cold storage with a storing capacity of 800 tons, setting a sorting line able to process five tons of apples per hour, as well as purchasing a stacker. 

The second grant is worth 278,000 dollars and was demanded by six members of the agricultural cooperative from the Costesti village, Ialoveni district. The investment project of farmers, specialised in producing table grapes, is estimated at 743,300 dollars and sees construction of a cold storage of 390 tons and installing a sorting line with a capacity of two tons/hour. 

"The farmers from Costesti have already accessed the grant, due to their own available resources. By the way, the Costesti village is eminent by the fact that it might the only village of Moldova having three cold storages endowed with sorting lines," Olga Sainciuc said.
