Moldovan government to take efforts to optimise health system

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/-Acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega today participated in the fourth issue of the National Health Forum titled,Sustainable Development for Improving Public Health, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
In his speech, Brega highlighted the importance of the event in the current context, when the Moldovan government and health system must respond to more challenges, among which: ensuring people’s access to quality health services, in conditions of economic crisis.
Gheorghe Brega reiterated the government’s commitments to build a modern health system and providing the residents with quality health services. “The government will take every effort, so that the health system should efficiently operate and ensure people’s access to quality services, as well as appropriate working conditions for all categories of health care workers from Moldova," he said.
The acting prime minister stressed the need to involve the state institutions, as well as civil society, academic environment in achieving the goals of health care system’s sustainable development. At the same time, he appreciated the international partners’ role in strengthening the field, highlighting, in this respect, the support of the World Health Organisation, Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency, EU Delegation in Moldova.
Last but not least, the acting prime minister was addressing the Moldovan residents, underlining the importance to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
The forum is a discussion platform, with the participation of representatives of the health system, academic environment, civil society and development partners. Launched in 2012, the forum approaches current problems in health sector and proposes solutions contained in policies and strategies of the field.
