Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/- The Russian delegation, at a 26 November meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), repeatedly initiated holding an unordinary meeting. The session's agenda included the same issues related to approving a candidate of a member of the Russian component in JCC and rotation of Russian military observers, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Referring to the first topic, the Moldovan delegation stressed the inappropriateness to tackle the subject and reiterated the need to take into account recommendations voiced at ten meetings in a row.
“As for the second topic, the Moldovan delegation repeatedly proposed approval, under the set procedure, of new Russian military observers and reminded the need to unconditionally switch to discussing the issue of free movement, delayed by representatives of Tiraspol, under diverse pretexts, starting from 29 January 2015. In an already usual manner, Russian and Transnistrian representatives, given their lack of wish to continue discussions on the enumerated issues, again blocked the meeting, without setting a clear perspective to this end”, a press release by the Bureau for Reintegration says.
At the meeting, the Moldovan delegation handed over an appeal to all representatives in the Commission, thereby demanding that the Transnistrian side ceases provocative actions in the Security Zone and nearby it (unauthorized use of the air space), as well as to refrain from worsening the situation in the region.
At the same time, proceeding from operative signals related to the possibility to carry out eventual destabilizing scenarios on the period of the so-called “elections” in the region, scheduled for 29 November 2015, the Moldovan delegation to JCC made an appeal to the Transnistrian component to take all necessary measures to maintain the situation normal, by observing the present regime in the Security Zone and non-allowing violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
“In the same context, we warn the people and foreigners residing in Moldova about the need to abstain from going to the Transnistrian region on 28-29 November, in order to avoid potential incidents and deliberate challenges on behalf of representatives of power-wielding forces of the region”, the communiqué says.
