Moldovan acting premier demands boosting activities to ensure national security

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/- Acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega today morning submitted an instruction to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, Justice Ministry, Intelligence and Security Service, Prosecutor General’s Office, Bureau for Reintegration and State Chancellery, given the enhancement of domestic and external risk factors over the last time, which may undermine the national security, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Thus, Gheorghe Brega asked competent authorities to bolster their work in the following sectors:
a) preventing and discouraging violent actions, ensuring the peaceful character of protest actions;
b) fostering actions of monitoring and control over the flow of foreign citizens who arrive in or transit Moldova, in order to discover people who pose risk for public order and national security, members and supporters of extremist, terroristic and criminal organisations;
c) increased monitoring and preventing the escalation of the situation in the Security Zone, discouraging unilateral actions on behalf of the Transnistrian region, maintaining dialogue with Tiraspol;
d) active communication with the residents, promoting messages of social cohesion and unity;
e) boosting measures to prevent and fight terrorism;
g) carrying out exchange of information and maintaining political dialogue with foreign partners, in order to identify and prevent transnational threats.
At the same time, in his instruction, the acting prime minister demanded that the authorities' leaders make sure that, while fulfilling the scheduled measures, cases of abuse of power, violation of human rights and freedoms or infringement of the present procedures are being avoided.
