Moldovan, Lithuanian electoral bodies sign cooperation agreement

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan and Lithuanian Central Electoral Commissions (CEC) signed a cooperation agreement on 27 November, sources from CEC informed today.
According to a press release by CEC, the agreement sees organizing symposiums, seminars, scientific and practical conferences, as well as other activities on topics of mutual interest, including with the participation of the Center for Continuous Electoral Training, exchange of information on results of researches, studies on laws, delegating representatives in charge of monitoring preparation and holding of elections and referendums.
At the same time, the document will help deepen and develop cooperation in improving electoral practice and legislation in terms of ensuring the exercising and protecting of citizens’ electoral constitutional rights, ensuring management of electoral operations, logistics and financial support, implementing modern information technologies in the concerned sector, professional development of all subjects involved in organizing and holding elections and plebiscites, as well as organizing campaigns on civic education and informing voters.
The agreement was signed within a study visit to Vilnius by a Moldovan CEC delegation on 22-28 November.
