Moldovan Liberal Democrats to participate in negotiations on creation of parliamentary majority

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/-The National Political Council of Liberal Democratic Party today decided that the faction would participate in negotiations on creation of a parliamentary majority.
The acting leader of Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Valeriu Strelet, made the statement to this end. “Given the goal assumed by PLDM to pull the state independent institutions out of captivity, taking into account the Democratic Party’s (PD) failure to public commitment to create a majority able to invest a functional government, as well as dramatic worsening of the economic and social situation, caused by the AIE-3 government resignation by the common vote of Communists and Socialists, being aware of the complexity of problems the political establishment is to solve in the immediate perspective, including by investing a government, which without PLDM’s participation cannot claim to be pro-European, the National Political Council decides to delegate the PLDM’s Central Standing Bureau and parliamentary faction the task to initiate consultations and political talks to invest a government meant to maintain Moldova on European integration path”, Strelet said.
“Tomorrow we will launch invitations for talks and consultations to parties willing to participate in setting up a majority for investing government, and we hope this process to carry out as quickly as possible”, he said.
PLDM reiterated the main goals: adoption of a roadmap for bringing institutions out of subordination, formation of a government led by a politically non-affiliated premier, creation of equal conditions for all parties attending the consultations.
Strelet announced that PLDM assumed to ensure “public character of discussions and political consultations during the next period”.
AIE III government led by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet was dismissed on 29 October by the vote of 65 lawmakers of Democratic Party, Party of Communists and Party of Socialists. Subsequently, PD leadership announced initiation of negotiations to create a new ruling coalition.
