Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/-President Nicolae Timofti today conveyed a congratulatory message to Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis on National Day of Romania, the presidential press service has reported.
The message reads:
“Excellency, dear Mr.President,
I have the honor and pleasure to congratulate you with all my heart on behalf of Moldovan people and on my own behalf on Romania’s National Day.
It is a holiday for all Romanians, including for those from the left bank of Prut river. On 1 December 1918, Bessarabia was already part of Romania by historical vote of Country Council of 27 March 1918, which represents to us great pride.
I am glad to ascertain that the political, economic and human relations between the two Romanian states are on the rise. We highly appreciate the efforts Romania and you personally make to advance Moldova on European path, as well as to modernise our public institutions via projects funded by Romanian authorities.
I assure you that we happy for every achievement of Romania at internal and external level. We want Moldova to advance on the democratic reforms and to make a decisive step towards the great European family. I am sure that the desire is possible via multidimensional cooperation that you promote as Romanian President and we jointly develop.
Conveying wishes of prosperity to Romanian people, I ask you to accept the expression of my special consideration. “
