National Centre of Cinematography to be created in Moldova

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/-The Moldovan acting government today decided to enforce the law on cinematography providing for the establishment of a National Centre of Cinematography, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
As a public institution in the subordination of the Culture Ministry, the centre will have to implement state policies in the cinematography field, as well as to monitor and supervise the enforcement of the legal framework.
The institution will use budget funds and its own financial resources to organise cinematographic festivals and events in Moldova, finance the participation of Moldovan films and filmmakers in international festivals, develop cinematographic projects and produce movies of all genres.
The cabinet had also amended the structure of the central apparatus of the Culture Ministry, increasing its maximum number of employees from 46 to 52. In order to enforce the amendment and create a new subdivision in charge of capital investments, within the Culture Ministry, the maximum number of employees of the National Library will be lowered by six unities.
The service was created to solve the permanent difficulties in the management of the Culture Ministry’s investment activity and the lack of human resources in charge of monitoring and managing the ministry’s 60 real estate properties, belonging to the state.
