Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - The government members will no longer benefit from allowances after resignation or expiry of mandate. The parliament voted a draft law to this end today.
The initiative was submitted by the Communists, who believe that the provisions of a law, adopted in 1999, on social guarantees of cabinet members in case of reorganisation, resignation or expiry of mandate, offered them much more advantageous social guarantees as compared to other state officials.
In the same context, Liberal Democrats asked the government to come up with law amendments to other categories of employees too.
Presently, the cabinet members, who failed to be part of the new government, benefit from one-off allowance amounting to six monthly average wages and get, during three months, a compensation equal to an average monthly salary, if they did not manage to find a job on this period.
