Moldovan acting foreign minister gives speech at 22nd meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council

Chisinau, 4 December /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, acting Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman gave a speech at the 22nd meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council, held in Belgrade, Serbia, on 3 December, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s communication and media relations service has reported.
Gherman presented Moldova’s vision on new threats to security in the OSCE area, unprecedented crises triggered by migration flows, terrorist attacks and conflict in Ukraine.
As for the Transnistrian conflict settlement, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy said the Chisinau authorities’ strategic goal was to identify a comprehensive political solution, based on observing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, by offering a special status to the Transnistrian region. Natalia Gherman reiterated the need that the five-plus-two talks be focused on political aspects of the Transnistrian conflict settlement, which would allow solving the problems faced by Latin script schools from the Transnistrian region and farmers of the eastern Dubasari district.
At the same time, the acting Moldovan foreign minister reiterated the need to fully withdraw Russian military troops from Moldova, in line with international commitments, as well as to turn the present peacekeeping operation into a civil multinational mission with international mandate.
