Moldovan, South African business people willing to cooperate

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan business people and South African Ambassador to Moldova Christian Basson held a meeting in Chisinau today. The sides tackled the establishment of business partnerships between both countries.
“I am honored to be here today. Despite being far away from each other, our countries may still enlarge their economic cooperation. We want a good collaboration with Moldova,” Basson said.
The ambassador emphasized that South Africa had the most developed economy among the countries of the African continent, with a GDP reaching almost 6,500 dollars per capita.
At the end of the meeting, Basson assured Moldovan entrepreneurs that they would find cooperation partners in South Africa and would export their products on the South African market in the shortest time.
The meeting was organized by the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Attending the meeting were representatives of ten Moldovan companies, such as “Orhei-Vit”, Vinaria Bardar (Bardar winery) “Vismos”, “Mingir-Agro”, Fabrica de conserve din Calarasi (can factory from Calarasi district). Most of the companies produce wine and canned fruits and vegetables.
According to data of the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova’s exports to South Africa stood at 83 thousand dollars in January-September 2015, while imports reached 3.2 million dollars.
