New Moldovan contingent starts peacekeeping mission in Kosovo

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - A ceremony of transfer of authority between the third and the fourth National Army contingents, dispatched to the KFOR peacekeeping operation in June, and respectively, December 2015, took place at the Italian military base Camp Villaggio in Pech settlement, Kosovo.
A National Army press officer, Ala Diaconu, has told MOLDPRES that the fourth contingent left for mission on 6 December. The contingent is made up of 41 military professionals, of whom one staff officer, seven sappers and a platoon of 33 servicemen, who will fulfil missions of security and guard of military and patrolling objects.
The mission of the KFOR-4 contingent, deployed at the Camp Villaggio Italian military base from the Pech settlement, Kosovo, will last six months.
Diaconu also said that the KFOR-3 contingent, that had been on mission for six months, was to return to Moldova later this week.
