Moldova’s vocational education system aligns with international standards

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/-The acting cabinet today approved a new classification in the fields of vocational training of specialists and qualifiers for post-secondary and non-tertiary post-secondary vocational education, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The document provides for criteria needed to achieve a vocational qualification level in compliance with international standards. It is also meant to ensure Moldova with qualified labour force.
Besides, the classification stipulates the priority categories of specialties in the vocational training of foremen, technicians, technologists, medical and pharmaceutical personnel, and other specialists in various fields.
The classification is structured in compliance with the requirements of the International Standard Classification of Education: Fields of Education and Training 2013 (ISCED-F 2013), which covers 125 specialties, divided in nine general domains. It also includes 21 education fields and 49 fields of training.
The Moldovan Education Ministry and Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry are in charge of enforcing the respective decision.
