Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - Six fuel importing oil companies have informed the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) about a new cut in prices for petrol and diesel oil by 0.6 and, respectively, 0.4 lei per one litre on average.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the ANRE press service, Anatol Barbei, confirmed that six importing companies had informed on a drop in prices for fuel starting from 11, 12 and 13 December. The diesel oil price will decrease to an average of 14.94 lei per one litre and the petrol - by two per cent, to 17.32 lei.
Barbei also said that other companies were also expected to decrease the prices for fuel on the days to come. Oil importers explain the cheapening of the fuel by a diminution of the import prices for these products.
The last cut in prices took place in early November 2015, when 14 oil companies, of which five importing fuel, decreased the pump prices for petrol and diesel oil by an average of 0.25 and, respectively, 0.30 lei per one litre, after the petrol price had dropped by 0.23 lei.
Presently, 86 economic agents holding licences for retail trade of petrol and diesel oil work on the oil products market. These products are sold at 624 fuel supply stations of Moldova.
The parliament has recently approved amendments to the legislation, according to which the price for fuel will be established depending on the quotations at international exchanges. Under the amendments, farmers will have right to import directly, without intermediaries, for their own needs, oil products without special conditions of licensing.
