Moldovan Army's KFOR-3 contingent returns from Kosovo

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - Servicemen of the third National Army contingent, which participated in the KFOR operation in Kosovo during six months, has returned home. A ceremony took place at the Defence Ministry on this occasion, within which the peacekeepers were awarded diplomas of the Moldovan government and National Army's distinctions.
At the ceremony, Defence Minister Anatol Salaru said that, during their stay in Kosovo, the Moldovan peacekeepers had proved that they were professionals, able to fulfill any mission - a work appreciated also by colleagues from the armies participating in the KFOR mission. "You had honour to act along with servicemen from different countries, from whom you have certainly had what to learn. Yer, at the same time, you also had obligation to fulfill your mission impeccably and in a way worth being appreciated," Anatol Salaru added.
The commander of the KFOR-3 contingent, major Ianac Deli said the Moldovan military, along with servicemen from italy, Austria and Slovenia, had contributed to maintaining stability and control over the situation in the zones of responsibility. They fulfilled missions of patrolling, area survey, escorting and ensuring the guard of strategic objects.
The KFOR-3 contingent, made up of 41 servicemen, was in Kosovo on the period 6 June - 8 December 2015.
