Moldovan pilot's body brought to Moldova

Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/-The body of Moldovan pilot who died in Afghanistan was brought to Moldova. Repatriation was carried out at the Chisinau International Airport at 4:30 in the morning, after joint efforts taken by Moldovan authorities. Information was presented at a meeting chaired by acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The body will undergo forensic examination by Moldovan specialists. Previous investigations carried out by foreign institutions confirmed that the dead person was Moldovan citizen Oleg Groza, who had been a pilot of helicopter captured by Talibs in Afghanistan.
At the same time, the Moldovan authorities continue to take a string of actions to bring the other two members of Moldovan crew into the country as soon as possible. According to the information, the Moldovan hostages are in a satisfactory condition.
On 24 November, the Moldovan helicopter was captured in Afghanistan after emergency landing.
There were three Moldovan citizens and 18 Afghans on board.
