Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/-Acting Defence Minister Anatol Salaru today held a meeting with the representatives of the OSCE Mission and military attachés to Moldova. Salaru said Moldova’s partners were confident enough once they continued to send their military attachés. Moldova is becoming a security provider, being part of the process of ensuring regional and international peace and security.
According to Salaru, joint projects and initiatives helped the National Army develop and consolidate its military abilities in key sectors like military education, training, technical-material resources, infrastructure and other areas.
“The association of defence attachés accredited to Moldova succeeded to be dynamic and voice its opinions and ideas. These are important steps that lead towards its consolidation and tight cooperation with the leadership of the Defence Ministry,” Romania’s military attaché to Chisinau, Colonel Dumitru Neacsu said.
The meeting of the defence minister and military attachés takes place annually; it is meant to enhance cooperation ties with the countries that delegated military diplomats to Moldova.
A number of 29 military attachés are currently delegated to Moldova. Military cooperation consists of technical-material assistance programmes, consultancy projects, as well as seminars for Moldovan officers working in educational institutions abroad.
