Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/- A group of 14 Communist MPs today announced they quit the faction of the Party of Communists (PCRM). At the same time, the lawmakers said that the group would form their own parliamentary platform – Social Democratic Platform for Moldova.
Communist MP Violeta Ivanov made the statement at a news briefing.
“The situation in the country became dramatic. There is no opposition, nor government in Moldova. The parties are arguing, instead of solving the problems in the country. We can no longer tolerate the situation. Today we leave the parliamentary faction of Communists”, Ivanov said.
The MPs said they formed the Social Democratic Platform for Moldova to overcome the political crisis in the country.
“PCRM was isolated itself lately, instead of contributing to overcoming the political crisis, it is awaiting. We believe politicians have to wake up. All lawmakers must have a common goal. Thus, we announce about the creation of Social Democratic Platform for Moldova”, MP Artur Resetnicov said.
After the 30 November 2014 polls, PCRM got 21 MP seats. Now the faction of Communists has seven lawmakers.
