Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/-A government draft decision amending the programme on the distribution of the Road Fund's financial means in 2015 was examined and approved by the Road Fund Council, during a meeting chaired by acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega today, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The adjustments were made after the budget of the Road Fund had been reduced by 485.2 million lei following the revision of the state budget law, currently accounting for 1,038.548 million lei. The members of the council also ascertained that the Road Fund owes debts to road maintenance suppliers. As a result, the money for road maintenance works, procurement of equipment and restoration of roads leading to social-cultural institutions inside settlements, has been cut down.
Instead, the board decided to allot 14 million more lei money to perform road design and assessment works, as well as to purchase land.
The acting prime minister said the Road Fund Council must take into account Moldova’s financial situation and thoroughly analyze all the expenses made to maintain roads in 2015. Brega required the Transport and Roads Infrastructure Ministry to further monitor the management of the Road Fund in strict compliance with the legislation in force.
