Moldovan PM-designate meets representatives of National Employers' Confederation

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister-designate Ion Sturza today met representatives of the National Employers ' Confederation (CNPM). The sides discussed the economic situation in Moldova and measures due to be taken to improve the relations between the business environment and government.

“We need a productive dialogue. It is very important to set a working agenda meant to trigger an effective cooperation with the business environment. Presently, there are well-defined strategies and programmes, yet the problem resides in their implementation. We must find a formula that will lead to achieving the desired results in the economic policy and not only,” Sturza said.

The employers’ representatives said that the visions of business people and premier-designate largely the same.

“CNPM is one of the three partners within the social dialogue nationally: Government-Employers-Trade Unions. Thus, to improve the business climate, we need a close cooperation between these forces, which would be meant to facilitate the activity of enterprises. In the long run, we expect concrete measures in meeting our proposals," CNPM head Leonid Cerescu noted.

So far, Sturza has had meetings with the Liberal Democratic Party, Liberal Party, European People’s Party, Balti mayor Renato Usatii, administration of Balti-based Free Economic Zone, civil society and rectors of universities from Moldova.

Ion Sturza is to meet Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, bashkan (governor) of the Gagauz Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit Irina Vlah, representatives of the Local Authorities Association, business environment and farmers. The Democratic Party and Party of Socialists refused to talk to the candidate nominated for the office of prime minister.

On 4 January 2016, the premier-designate is to present a government action programme and a new cabinet list in parliament.
