Cold weather forecast in Moldova for next seven days

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydro-meteorological Service has forecast light snow and a decrease in the night-time air temperature down to -16 Celsius degrees for 30 December-5 January.

Light snow was forecast in some areas for 31 December, 1 and 5 January. No essential precipitation is expected in the rest of days. The roads will be covered with glazed frost.

The night-time air temperature will gradually drop from -4 - -9 degrees to -11 - -16 degrees.

During the day, the air temperature will decrease from -2 - -4 degrees to -5 - -10 degrees.

According to the State Hydro-meteorological Service's multi-annual data /1886-2014/ on this period, the highest air temperature in Chisinau was +13.5 degrees Celsius on 29 December 2000 and the lowest - -21.5 degrees Celsius on 29 December 1942.
