Moldovan parliament holds last meeting of 2015

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/-The Moldovan parliament today held its last meeting of this year.
During the meeting, MPs voted a draft law according to which notaries, lawyers and bailiffs will no longer receive a 50-per-cent discount on the purchase of the compulsory medical insurance starting with 2016. Therefore, they will pay the integral price of 4,056 lei.
MPs also voted a draft law banning the use of slate sheets in first reading today. If the draft law is voted in second reading, economic agents will have to sell their current stocks of slate sheets within 12 months.
The parliament has also voted in second reading a draft law providing for an increase in the price of the compulsory motor third party liability insurance starting with 1 January 2016.
MPs today voted in first reading a draft law, according to which citizens owning a valid contract with commercial companies will be able to switch to another electricity provider without paying additional taxes. The document sees that the switching procedure will have to be performed within 20 days upon writing the petition.
At the end of the meeting, MPs listened to Christmas carols and holiday wishes.
The Moldovan parliament’s first plenary meeting of its autumn-winter session 2015 was held on 15 October 2015.
